About the role
We are looking for an
Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team


As an
Underwriting Assistant in our
Personal Lines department, your work will have a big impact within our underwriting distribution department.

People will count on you to deliver Intact's legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in personal insurance to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.


This is a 12-month contract opportunity working a minimum of 2 days a week in our Edmonton office.

What you'll do here:


  • Process Policy transactions on system including New Business, Renewals, Endorsements, and Cancellations
  • Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, review and confirm policy information and coverages with Brokers
  • Answer phone queue straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of one (1) year office related experience
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Post Secondary education is an asset
  • Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
  • Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritize work
  • Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication
  • Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
