    Our client, a proven industry leader in the building materials sector is actively looking for a qualified Purchaser Manufacturing to join their team. Be part of this companies continued success at their Mississauga location

    The Purchaser, who works under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products, materials, and services to guarantee that continuous production requirements are met. You must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, and negotiating abilities with the capacity to cultivate relationships with both internal customers and suppliers.

    The details: Purchaser, Manufacturing:

    • 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm. *onsite.

    The role: Purchaser, Manufacturing

    • Negotiate and administer contracts with vendors and suppliers
    • Work directly with suppliers to maintain a positive and mutually beneficial relationship
    • Develop purchasing strategies
    • Find efficiencies in workflow processes
    • Inventory management
    • Ensure all procurement needs are being fulfilled
    • Min/Max levels are being set and adjusted accordingly
    • Create purchase orders
    • Follow up to ensure product is scheduled
    • Generate updates and reports as needed
    • Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure all product needs are being met
    • Develop solutions for slow moving stock/over stock
    • Provide mentorship for Jr. Buyer

    Qualifications and Skills: Purchaser, Manufacturing.

    • College or University Degree – Business or purchasing would be an asset
    • 6+ years of purchasing experience within manufacturing.
    • Must have increasing levels of responsibility throughout career.
    • Advanced MS Office /Excel skills required.
    • Experience with ERP, MRP required *JD Edwards a strong asset
    • Vendor management experience
    • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
