We are looking for registered paramedics currently employed by ANB to work as a Safety Operations Coach throughout the province of New Brunswick.


Reporting to the Coordinator, Safety Programs, the Safety Operations Coach will be responsible to provide coaching to employees in the areas of safe vehicle operation, safety education and other safety related operational activities.

As a contractor of MHSNB, you are accountable to our patients and employees by participating in and supporting all safety related initiatives, as well as acting in a manner that fosters a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.


Accountability:


The Safety Operations Coach will work under the direction from the Department of Quality and Risk, and act in partnership with all facets of operations.

The incumbent will positively communicate company safety philosophy and policy so that there is a shared realization of the company's goals in the area of operations.


Key to this role will be the establishment of a safety culture, building employees' capabilities and employee development through the ongoing coaching process.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Safety Programs Department by evaluating driver skills and knowledge of employees and potential employees.
  • Participate in employee Health and Safety activities.
  • Complete and provide detailed reports following vehicle safety evaluations.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and support to staff within the realm of safety.
  • Promote ANB and MHSNB policy compliance.
  • Support the Safety Operations process by working closely with Occupational Health and Safety and Human Resources Department.
  • Ensure the delivery of highquality customer service while interacting with employees and the public.
  • Encourage employee participation at special events.
  • Participate in staff safety reward and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate movement of training materials and supplies including vehicles.
  • Provide assistance and services through coordinated Provincial N95 fit testing program.
  • Attend external committee meeting(s).
  • Travel will be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Safety Programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive work experience as a Paramedic, including service with ANB.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a leadership role and/or experience providing training and education.
  • Must be an active Paramedic in good standing registered with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
  • Must have a valid New Brunswick Class 4 driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • Previous or current District Health & Safety Representative and current or past member of Regional Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) membership would be considered an asset.
  • Enrolment or certification in formal safety training programs would be considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a team member and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and without close supervision.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Please note compensation will be in the form of a Personal Services Contract with MHSNB.
