As a key member of the School of Health and Community (Community Stream), you will play a pivotal role by demonstrating teaching excellence through proven adaptability with diverse learners, and the creation of a learning environment that motivates and engages learners, using a variety of teaching methodologies and types of delivery.


Fleming College's Early Childhood Education program students will learn how to help young children develop their physical, social, and intellectual skills, their self-confidence and imagination.

Fleming ECE students have unique opportunities to engage in active classroom learning environments that equip them with the skills and knowledge required to work with children from birth to 12 years of age.

What We Are Looking For:

You possess a relevant combination of education and experience with a minimum of Bachelors Degree in ECE Child Studies, or related, and five (5) years of recent, related, extensive experience working in the ECE field within a variety of Early Learning and Child Care settings


In addition you have:

  • Experience and understanding of theory and best practice in ECE within the last year 2 years.
  • Sound knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Education resources, Ontario Early Years Policy Framework, (Excerpts from the Elect, How Does Learning Happen, and Think Feel Act).
  • Knowledge of Ontario Kindergarten Programs is an asset.
  • Current registration with College of ECE.
  • Strive for continuous professional development in Early Childhood Education and achieve results
  • A natural ability to role model effective motivational skills and have demonstrated knowledge.
  • Experience in developing/delivering educational materials in alternative formats using Universal Design principles is a definite asset.
  • You are comfortable working with technology, including blended learning technologies, and are selfsufficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Focus on enhancing the student experience by creating a rich and open learning environment that embraces diversity and provides superior service to students.
  • Work independently and as part of a team and can effectively contribute to multidisciplinary teams utilizing your strong leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, as well as interpersonal and critical thinking/problem solving skills are required.
