Summary


The Hatchery Administrator will work as part of the team to help maintain accurate record keeping and data management for NS Hatchery.

The Hatchery Administrator will work with management and employees to collect and file documentation and records.

Schedule

The Hatchery Administrator will work 40 hours a week, typically Monday to Friday. Weekends and Holidays could be required based on operational needs.

Major DutiesComplete data entry of daily operation logs.

  • Track and maintain accurate inventories for hatchery operations.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the hatchery operations as required.
  • Support the Hatchery Manager and Technical Specialist with daily administration, data entry, and reporting as required.
  • Prepare invoices for finance.
  • Manager interoffice mail for the hatchery.
  • Assuring people entering the building are complying with biosecurity policies.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential.
  • Practice biosecurity protocol.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Position RequirementsGrade 12 or equivalent
-1-2 years' experience working in an administrative role

  • Strong commitment to health & safety
  • Ability to lift up to 14kgs (30lbs) for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple demands
  • Experience in the agricultural industry preferable
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Pleasant, outgoing personality, with a friendly positive approach to customer service
Proven skill to format and draft correspondence, forms, reports, and proposals

Working Conditions

The position operates indoors in a production environment. May involve working outside and in livestock buildings along with office work. Dust at times with strong odours, noise and exposure to cold in winter months and heat in summer months.
