Estimator/project Coordinator - Edmonton, Canada - Lenmak Exterior Innovations Inc.

• Identify project opportunities
• Create budgetary estimates for potential projects
• Create takeoffs/cutlists for projects requiring more accurate budgetary estimates
• Interpret architectural specifications, drawings, and contract documents and identify compatible Lenmak products and possible costsavings opportunities
• Work with management to identify and mitigate project risks or ambiguity to ensure projects are tenable when awarded
• Follow company policies and procedures for project initiation

• Document all summary information in a project tracking register
• Identify scope of work, value, major milestones/KPIs and key stakeholders
• Manage and effectively communicate stakeholder expectations including customers, Lenmak management and key staff members
• Document approvals and decisions pertaining to each project
• Identify potential risks and collaborate with project stakeholders to mitigate or avoid them
• Monitor and report progress, scopecreep, and extras
• Qualify and quantify effects of proposed changes to project scope (both internal and external), obtain informed approvals, document implementation and measure and report outcome
• Identify project completion point, perform administrative closeout and postmortem analysis in conjunction with management expectations
• Build and maintain healthy professional relationships with customers and vendors in support of business development efforts

• Develop a working knowledge of all Lenmak products
• Support customer inquiries for technical information
• Quote and data entry processing
• Assist customers in creation of cut lists from site measurements for quoting or production

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge of architectural plans, specifications, and tender procedures
• Experience navigating, reading, and interpreting architectural specifications
• Postsecondary degree or diploma in architectural technologist is an asset
• Proficiency with Planswift or similar estimating software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel and Outlook, specifically
• Understanding of basic building envelope technology principles
• Knowledge of commercial glazing, roofing, and/or architectural cladding systems
• Working knowledge of business practices including basic accounting, budgeting, cost management and reporting an asset

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Spatial reasoning

The right person for this position will be willing to learn and is comfortable dealing with different employees across the Sales, Management, and Production departments.
