As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of recognized pharmacy assistant program and/or recent retail or hospital pharmacy experience acceptable to the employer required, with working knowledge of pharmacy terms and medication names.

Must be accurate, punctual, reliable, co-operative, and have an excellent attendance record.

Must be in good physical condition as majority of shift involves typing, static positions, heavy lifting, standing, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, typing, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent knowledge of Pharmacy based software, preferably Connect Care. Experience with unit dose packaging equipment, pyxis, pharmacy receiving with inventory control is preferred. 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience is an asset.
