Transportation Services Driver is a safety-first individual, responsible for the transport of patients from our various Mental Health Care programs.

Drivers must be compassionate individuals capable of managing a group of patients of varying ages and physical needs, all while maintaining diligent on-road excellence.

The Transportation Driver will be required to ensure the safe and orderly transportation of passengers on assigned routes to and from both our London and St.

Thomas facilities; as well as operate the vehicle in a professional manner and in alignment with St. Josephs mission, vision and values. Our departments operate within varying shifts from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week


Essential Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as recognized in the Province of Ontario
  • Valid Class F Ontario Driver's license
  • Thorough knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act and regulations
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrated ability to perform general vehicle maintenance
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition consistent with heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, walking and standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset

Teaching and Research

  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid19 vaccine and a written commitment to follow any future Public Health recommendations and St. Joseph's Health Care London policies and processes related to Covid management in the workplace.
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
