Material Handling and Inventory Clerk

Responsibilities:
- Managing and prioritizing daily receiving tasks.
- Manage and plan/build the shipping/receiving process and procedures.
- Manage and define the overall material management processes and procedures. example, keeping shop/shelves tidy of material, loading job carts/shelves as required.
- Manage and define inventory process and procedures, keeping stock records, putting inventory materials away.
- Increase inventory turn over as Descon moves to increase the use of inventory items to reduce our costs
- Effective handling and storing of materials in inventory reduce the cost of utilizing our inventory
- Create a continuous supply of material to the production team.
- Maintain and keep Inventory cage organised in a clean, functional/logical manor.
- Pull all parts that have been ordered on a stock PO from inventory.
- Deliver all stock orders to the Material Management department in an organised manor for receiving
- Create stock PO's for all parts that are requested from the cage and are not on a stock PO
- Check in all parts that are being returned/purchased to inventory and return them to their individual locations
- Create and implements inventory count schedule to ensure inventory levels are accurate.
- Daily check of hardware bin levels. Refill as required.
- Complete monthly hardware inventory counts to ensure inventory levels are accurate. Reports to be delivered to Purchasing
- To be in charge of maintaining all raw materials (round bar, shafting, flatbar, sq tubing, U-Channel, Jleg, etc.)
- Create Descon stickers for outgoing shipments
- Pack belt skid according to belt list
- Check skid for parts that haven't been secured
- Load truck in a safe manner / control panels, fragile items secured
- Print project paperwork for skidding
- Create belt list in master ship list
- Create skid numbers in master ship list
- Wrap and tarp skids for storage
- Conduct daily forklift inspections
- File forklift safety inspections once per month
- Complete weekly inventory counts to ensure inventory levels are accurate. Reports to be delivered to Purchasing
- Provide ordering lists to purchasing when inventories hit their minimums
- Check in material received to inventory
- Complete weekly shop consumable inventory counts. To be deliver to Jim
- Provide Friday inventory reports of Argon, and Propane levels
- Arrange steel bins to be emptied
Requirements:
- Confident forklift driver; valid forklift license
- Strong work ethic and organization skills
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Positive attitude
- Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft office and Excel.
- Ability to read drawings is an asset
- Previous experience with hardware or part numbers (order desk, stocking shelves etc.)
