What can I expect to do in this role?: You will:

  • perform complex financial transactions and analysis, conduct quality control audits and coordinate the requisitioning and authorization of cheques
- provide technical advice to senior management and stakeholders on financial matters, ensuring all financial control requirements are met
- identify/verify/ information and respond to a wide range of inquiries
- assist in the production of reports and analysis of the Ministry's Trust Fund information


Note:

These positions are located at 400 University Avenue in Toronto, currently working on a Hybrid Remote Work model (3 days in office).


How do I qualify?:


Technical Knowledge and Skills:


  • You have knowledge of accounting practices and principles to perform financial administration of monies collected, held in trust and disbursed.
  • You have sharp attention to detail to perform quality assurance, financial analysis and best practices to coordinate financial control activities and produce reports.
  • You have an indepth knowledge of employment standards, administration process and procedures to provide technical financial advice.
  • You have the ability to use computerized financial reporting systems and can ensure the integrity of databases.

Communication, Client Service and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have oral and written communication skills to clarify and explain procedures and processes to managers, staff and stakeholders.
  • You can effectively provide technical training and assistance to new staff, discuss financial control program issues, determine needs and convey financial information.
  • You have interpersonal skills to establish and maintain client relationships in order to respond to requests for information with tact and discretion.

Organizational, Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:


  • You have organizational skills to plan, coordinate, and compile financial information, while prioritizing conflicting priorities.
  • You have the able to identify and develop a course of action to resolve contentious issues in a timely manner.
