GENERAL MACHINIST

We are currently searching for a General Machinist person to work in our Brampton shop Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor and Service Coordinator, the General Machinist is responsible for all day to day aspects of the manufacturing process including machine setups, ensuring proper maintenance, and operating to manufacture a quality product.

Specific Accountabilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawing, and specifications
- Setup and operate conventional machines used to process components
- Produce quality components/ parts according to drawings and/or samples
- Lathe, mill, drill
- Maintain a safe work environment keeping work area tidy, maintaining shop machinery & tooling, following health & safety policies
- Other shop tasks as required
Education/Experience
- High school diploma/ GED; preferred
- Technical college/ vocation diploma; preferred
- Minimum 3rdyear Apprentice; required
- 12 years' experience as General Machinist; preferred
- Proven commitment to workplace safety
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift 25lbs

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$30.00-$35.00 per hour
