Description

Northern Roller has an opening for a General Manager experienced in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. This plant, part of American Roller is a smaller job shop and our only location in Canada.
Reporting to and in coordination with the Vice-President, Coverings Product Group


duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by maintaining relationships with key customers.
  • P&L financial performance of the business unit.
  • Formulating and implementing growth strategies.
  • Managing daily operations.
  • Planning investment in facilities, equipment, materials and human resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:


  • Increase business unit effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, training, and coaching employees.
  • Responsible for communicating values, strategies, and objectives. Tasked with assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Leading the development of a climate for offering information and opinions.
  • Develop strategic plan by studying technological, process and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
  • Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making midcourse corrections.
  • Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, sales, marketing, and technical services policies and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.
  • Build strong company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking practices.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties, assignments, and projects as assigned by the Executive Leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing industrial sales and operations.
  • Employee relations including performance management, accountability and coaching.
  • Proven skills and record of leading a team with various background, expertise & cultural origins.
  • Strategic and financial planning.
  • Lean/Process improvement / quality management / plant management.
  • Implement best practice in planning, management reporting and governance processes.

Pay:
$100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
