- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or working toward an Early Childhood Diploma is preferred
- In-depth understanding of child growth and development and demonstrated knowledge and experience using a play-based pedagogy and child-centered, developmentally appropriate practices
- Knowledge of health, hygiene and safety including personal/physical care and the safe transfer of students
- Ability to collaborate with members of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sensitivity and respect for diversity
- Respect for confidentiality and privacy protocols
- Knowledge of basic computer applications and technology
- Valid Standard First Aid.

Casual Early Childhood Educator
Casual Early Childhood Educators (ECE's) are required on an "as needed" basis to work at various schools.
You must include three work related references with your application including a current phone number and email address if possible. Your references can be a current or previous supervisor from your last position or your supervisor from a practicum or volunteer position.
Reporting to the Pre-Primary Facilitator, the Casual Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will collaboratively work with and support the Lead Early Childhood Educator (LECE) within the Pre-primary Program Team, to ensure a supportive and secure environment for young children attending the Pre-primary Program.
The Requirements of a casual ECE include:
Successful completion of the Criminal Record (including vulnerable sector check) and Child Abuse Registry Search are required before hiring to be a casual Early Childhood Educator.
