Fabrication Manager - Stoney Creek, Canada - Bouling Metals

Description

Bouling Metals is a small custom fabrication shop located in Stoney Creek with 10-15 employees, specializing in welding/fabrication of carbon steel and alloys.

The Fabrication Manager reports to the Owners and is responsible for overseeing the entire steel fabrication process, manufacturing strategy and day-to-day direction of the shop.

• Work with the shop Foreman to manage a team of skilled fabricators, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met

• Plan workloads to meet required due dates, including assigning jobs and verifying job packets are inclusive of necessary information and drawings
• Regularly monitor open order progress and delivery dates, following up with suppliers as necessary
• Regularly updating current production lead times with management
• Develop and implement fabrication strategies
• Assist in identifying and coordinating the purchase of materials and outsourced processes
• Ensure quality procedures, Health & Safety and industry guidelines are followed (ISO 9001:2015)

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of a steel fabrication shop, ISO & CWB
• Working knowledge of ERP system such as JobBoss considered an asset
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints
• Knowledge of welding procedures and processes, fabrication techniques and materials
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
