We are currently recruiting for a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent Speech Language Pathologist in School Therapy Services.

The designated office is Stratford. This position is expected to start in September 2024.

This position is based on the school year and no work is available during school breaks.


This exciting role provides therapy services to students in schools in Huron and Perth counties and involves working with a variety of fellow clinicians, educators and parents to help children and youth achieve meaningful outcomes in their ability to communicate.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide mainly school based intervention including screening, assessment and consultation regarding speech development, articulation, fluency, voice, resonance, basic augmentative communication needs and swallowing;
  • Intervention can be direct, mediated or consultative and may be in groups or include virtual modalities;
  • Provide education for clients, families and school personnel
  • Plan services as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes the family, other care providers, school board personnel, volunteers, staff from other agencies, and other TVCC staff;
  • Occasional work contracted from the Home and Community Care Support Services (formerly the Southwest LHIN) for in home and private school services. This may on rare occasions be in the evenings or on weekends;
  • Participate in ongoing program development;
  • Clinical supervision of support personnel, students and initial practice registrants within the guidelines of CASLPO may be required.

Qualifications:


  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office 365 and videoconferencing software (ex. Zoom)
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to provide services in French would be an asset
