The Dedicated Locator Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and supervision of a team of locators who are responsible for locating underground utilities and other subsurface infrastructure.

This position involves managing and coordinating the work of the locator team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, developing and implementing procedures for efficient and effective utility location, and maintaining accurate records of all locates


Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders as needed to coordinate utility location and prevent conflicts with other construction or excavation activities
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the status of locator operations and any issues or concerns that arise
  • Manage a team of locators, including scheduling work assignments and providing training and guidance as needed
  • Develop and implement procedures for efficient and effective utility location, including the use of technology and software tools
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the locator team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all locates, including maps, reports, and other documentation
  • Ensure that all locates are conducted safely and in compliance with Bill 8

Experience:

- supervisory experience and asset
