    Description

    Job Description

    The Psychologist provides comprehensive assessment and intervention services to children/youth who exhibit behavioural, emotional, developmental, mental health concerns, and other outstanding problems in functioning.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Deliver psychological assessments and consultations to children/youth with complex needs.
    2. Conduct cognitive, personality, and environmental function studies as needed.
    3. Develop treatment plans and recommendations within an interprofessional team context.
    4. Promote collaboration and liaison with community schools, agencies, and professionals.
    5. Complete relevant reports, such as progress notes and assessment reports, according to established standards.
    6. Engage in staff training and consultation to ensure effective service delivery.
    7. Seek supervision and consultation as needed to provide high-quality services.
    8. Assess group dynamic skills for group therapy facilitation.
    9. Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and PHIPA.
    10. Demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and initiative-taking skills.
    11. Stay up-to-date on childhood trauma issues and service-specific training.
    12. Apply strong therapeutic and assessment skills, collaborating effectively with professionals and community agencies.
    13. French language proficiency is an asset.

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Psychology (required).
    • License to practice in Ontario as a Psychologist or eligibility to become licensed in Ontario.
