The LRT Operations and Maintenance Section of Edmonton Transit Service is looking for a Method Analyst II who will support the Director and the four General Supervisors within the LRT Operations and Maintenance Section in data analytics related to business performance and asset management.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments to be Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

  • Plan and implement Engineering & Maintenance research strategies in support of ongoing work and new section/branch initiatives. This will include monitoring timelines, analyzing financial, economic, and technical data, and evaluating trends to formulate action plans/reports
  • Implement systems to analyze life cycle trends of the track, traction power, signals, and LRV components
  • Analyze life cycle trend data to develop longrange life cycle replacements and budget needs
  • Monitor and define Engineering and Maintenance strategic plans in alignment with branch and department goals
  • Analyze and report on LRT Operations & Maintenance business performance metrics. Review other Transit operator business performance metrics to benchmark and continuously improve the performance of our LRT system in Edmonton
  • Primary point of contact and business area lead on inquiries on business area performance when questions are received from other Transit Operators
  • Prepare, analyze and review business documents such as workshop performance metrics, workshop flow analysis, contract key performance indicators, proforma financial statements and other documents
  • Develop budget forecasting and analysis through enhanced reporting models
  • Assist General Supervisors and Director with monthly and yearend budget variance reports
  • Support the LRT Operations and Maintenance section managing a variety of strategic projects
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other sections and branches on joint initiatives and work
  • Related duties as required

Qualifications:


  • University Degree in business administration, commerce, accounting, economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of directlyrelated work experience in developing business information, strategies and advising on fiscal management of a maintenance organization
  • Experience in trend analysis, forecasting, costbenefit analysis and benchmarking
  • Knowledge and experience in research, analysis, and synthesization of complex quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful reports and presentations
  • Understand and experience in the areas of business process improvement, business process mapping and business process management
  • Ability to extract and manipulate electronic data from other systems into meaningful reports
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and collaborative business strategy development
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly, in diverse areas such as operational analysis, human resources, customer service, communications and project management
  • Proficiency with standard software tools such as word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, graphs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Well developed interpersonal and collaboration skills including the ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and projects

  • Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position, there may be a cost associated with this requirement

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week, Monday - Friday


Salary:
$ $ Hourly); $90, $114, Annually
