Position Summary_

ASM Global has an immediate opening at Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park for a part time Rink Attendant.

Reporting to the Facility Operations Manager, this position oversees all facility & ice crew duties consistent with ASM Global/Walker Sport and Ability Centre at Canada Games Park regulations.


Responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and its events by performing the following essential duties personally or with other team members.

The Rink Attendant is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the ice surface, ice plant and facility as well as the set up and tear down of public and private functions in the building.

The selected individual must be able to work varied schedules as each event has different demands, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities_

  • Performance of ice maintenance
  • Custodial/janitorial duties
  • Event setup and tear down
  • Building maintenance
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Snow removal during winter season
  • The safe and effective changeover from one event to the next
  • Perform building opening and closing procedures; assist in providing facility security and ensuring procedures are followed in the event of evacuation, fire alarms, injuries, etc.
  • Perform minor and major repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience_

  • Secondary school graduate.
  • Relatedv enue/facility experience is an asset.
  • Ability to do heavy lifting and ability to work at heights.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
  • The flexibility to work a varied schedule which will include days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

  • Valid Ontario G Driver's License
  • ORFA IMEO certification is an asset
  • ORFA Basic Refrigeration certification is an asset
