Your Opportunity

The increasing volume, velocity, and complexity of Stantec's digital landscape represents many challenges and opportunities. The need for its effective, efficient use is essential to our competitiveness and operational performance. The Practice Technology Services Group (PTSG) is focused on understanding every region's Business Operating Units (BOU) technology requirements and facilitating effective use of technology.

The Service Delivery Manager (SDM) plays a key role in addressing this challenge by interfacing with their assigned BOU, as well as other BOUs should their responsibilities require. SDM's will work closely with related Regional Digital Practice, Innovation, and business leaders in accordance with IT policies and practices.

SDMs coordinate the delivery of PTSG services, aligning regional and corporate IT teams and our major vendors - at the direction of BOU & FST (Function Service Teams) governing bodies - to ensure limited resources are applied efficiently and effectively towards prioritized business goals and practice priorities.

This exciting role is a challenging opportunity to play a critical global role focused on delivering technology services to the assigned BOU.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

  • Assist in understanding ESRI's technology roadmap in relation to BOU requirements.
  • Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant product & service offerings from major vendors.
  • Assist with coordinating and implementing current and emerging technologies across service areas.
  • Assist Digital Practice teams with support and development, of practice standards, digital content, and customization of core vendor tools.

Management & Communications

  • Liaison to assigned Environmental Services, across all regions, to ensure strategic alignment with 'Digital Delivery' objectives & priorities articulated by their Digital Practice team through PTSG's business alignment program.
  • Coordinate primary planning and operations for Environmental Services Business, Practice (sector, discipline, innovation), and Regional (BPR) Leaders, and their Digital Practice team.
  • Manage staff within PTSG team.
  • Effective communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
  • Provide regular updates on issues & trends in the Environmental Services BOU, significant problems.
  • Keep Environmental Services stakeholders informed of global IT strategies, major initiatives, IT system updates, and deployments schedules.
  • Align business needs with major vendor interactions with PTSG's 'Director of Vendor Management.
  • Maintain understanding of support trends within business unit and drive ITSC support improvements.

Operational

  • Extract, convey, and prioritize BOU operational requirements and feedback to help guide PTSG team members for operational support, IT, and vendor services.
  • Thorough understanding of support trends within BOU and drive IT Service Center (ITSC) support improvements.
  • Lead one or more of PTSG's service areas, assessing & establishing improvement plans & coordinating ongoing operational activities.
  • Lead and/or contribute to numerous change initiatives involving PTSG, vendors, IT, Office of Innovation, Digital Practice, and numerous other stakeholders.
  • Represent your business unit in practice technology community and innovation planning as required.

Qualifications

Capabilities & Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating efforts between senior business leaders, project delivery teams, and highly technical service providers internally & externally is highly desirable.
  • Considerable experience with ESRI Geospatial/GIS technologies is highly desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of ESRI's Enterprise infrastructure and ecosystem considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with CAD/BIM digital delivery technologies in a multiversion/multivendor environment will be considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Information Technology or related field
years of related experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry preferred.
