Working as part of the dynamic Summer Camps team, you will provide high quality activities for children between the ages of 4 and 12.

If you are enthusiastic, outgoing, responsible, at least 16 years of age with a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN), a valid First Aid and CPR certification, available to attend training in June and work throughout the specified months below, then we have an opportunity for you This position is approximately 35-40 hours per week during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

You are an exemplary leader and team player who will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for developing & implementing summer camp & Mobile Youth Centre staff training, monitoring staff performance, coaching, and motivating day camp & Mobile Youth Centre staff throughout the summer.
  • Schedule staff for the entire summer
  • Provide continuous direction and leadership to summer day camp & Mobile Youth Centre staff
  • Work closely with parents/guardians, campers, staff, and management to ensure a quality summer experience
  • Administrative and oversee summer camp duties.
  • Develop and plan day to day camp activities
  • Ensure the Summer Day camp & Mobile Youth Centre activities are age appropriate, and that the camps are meeting the HIGH FIVE quality standards of programming
  • Responsible for the overall daily management of all summer camp locations
  • Deal with unique and conflicts within summer staff and participants.
  • Develop and conduct Summer Counselor in Training Program
  • Meet with Recreation Coordinator on a weekly basis
  • Meet with Site Supervisors on a biweekly basis
  • Conduct monthly Staff Inservice's
  • Schedule Counselor in Training placements
  • Schedule Inclusion meet & greets and camp placements
  • Work in all weather conditions both indoors and outdoors
  • Be able to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Utilize Active Net registration software
  • Be able to make quick decisions
  • Schedule Mobile Youth Centre staff
  • Job RequirementsQualifications:
  • 3 years' experience in a camp setting in a supervisory role
  • Valid First Aid & CPR
  • Valid Class G driver's license in good standing.
  • HIGH FIVE PHCD is an asset
  • Must be available to work exclusively from May to August
