Location

Position Overview

March Break Camp - for children aged 4-10 years running over March Break, March 13 to 17, 2023 (Mandatory training Mar. 11, 2023)

Community programs in the above areas are provided at various times and locations throughout Burlington.

Program staff report to the Recreation Programmer/ Recreation Coordinator and typically work 1 to 3 shifts per week per program.

Hours of work will vary with position title and will vary dependent on program need.

Responsibilities

School Break Program Leaders are responsible for planning and implementing creative and varied programs to meet the needs and interests of all participants.

Successful applicants will be responsible for the safety and supervision of participants both on and offsite and are expected to implement and participate in activities.

Staff supporting individuals with disabilities may have additional activities including but not limited to providing support for feeding, changing and toileting.

All staff must adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times.


Requirements:

Program Staff must have the following qualifications or be in the process of obtaining, at their own expense:

  • Standard First Aid and CPR level C certification
  • Behavior Management Systems Training (available through the City of Burlington)


  • HIGH FIVE

  • Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • A criminal record check including a vulnerable sector search

Additional Information

Please be advised of the following details:

  • Interviews will be held in February of 202
  • Successful applicants are required to be at all mandatory training dates and to complete all mandatory online training prior to program start.
  • Successful applicants will be placed at a location that best fits the program needs.

$17.23 per hour
