The opportunity

DASC seeks an enthusiastic, energetic individual committed to the vision, values and philosophy of inclusion to join our leadership team in the position of Program Supervisor.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Program Supervisor will be responsible for leading a group of direct support professionals in the development and implementation of person-centred program plans and enhancing overall service quality of day-to-day programming for persons with intellectual disabilities.


The Program Supervisor will provide leadership support to their designated team, while maintaining and fostering a culture of collaboration, positivity, and continuous learning.

You will liaise regularly with all stakeholders including the leadership/program team, DASC participants, families, advocates, customers, governmental agencies, and the general public.

Communication and being a team player are essential skills necessary for the position.


You will support your staff team with the development and maintenance of program plans and ensuring that program participants are able to meet individual plans and goals.

You will be responsible for overall management of medication for the program area you support as well as become a lead in an identified area of staff training.

Program participants in your program area will engage in a diverse range of activities, including paid employment and life skills.


This position may be responsible for managing daily operations relevant to social enterprise contracts to ensure participant engagement and participation, and that quality and customer needs are met.

Additionally, as a member of the leadership team, you will play an important role in the long-term business planning of the organization.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:


  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Services field/Psychology/Therapeutic Recreation
  • Experience working with persons with an intellectual disability, preferably in a community setting
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, team building, staff training, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performance feedback, communication, and time management
  • Experience working in a nonprofit setting would be considered an asset
  • Current Criminal Record, Vulnerable Persons Search and proof of Covid 19 Vaccination required
  • Current First Aid/CPR is required
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle are required

Hours of work are 8AM - 4PM, Monday to Friday, with free parking onsite.
