Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) provides public health services to the County of Oxford, Elgin and the City of St. Thomas. With offices in Woodstock and St.

Thomas, Ontario, Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) is dedicated to building a healthy community by promoting and supporting community health by delivering effective public health programs and services.


SWPH is currently looking to recruit a Public Health Student to support an exciting collaboration between Southwestern Public Health, the Oxford Ontario Health Team and the Oxford Mental Health and Addictions Action Coalition (OMHAAC).

The project will address one of the critical priorities of the OHT and OMHAAC, specifically Health System Navigation, to assist clients, patients, and families to navigate and access health services, including community-based services and programs related to mental health and addiction services.

In addition, it will include the creation of the OHT Community Capacity Resource Assessment.

Also, to support the implementation of a digital health services system navigation map to enhance information, access, and communication between clients, patients and families, clinical staff, and service providers to assist individuals and families/support systems in accessing the appropriate services that meet their needs.


Essential Qualifications:

Theoretical knowledge in research methodology, evaluation, program planning and health promotion.
Project management skills, including planning and development and assessment of the project.

Critical assessment and analysis skills to analyze and describe a health problem.
Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable access to an insured working vehicle.


Immunization Requirements:

Provide documentation you have received two (2) doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, plus at least one booster dose, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health's policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
