About us

Overview:


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team, providing essential support and services to MALE youth who are at risk or are being sexually exploited in our community.

This role will play a critical part in our efforts to empower young survivors, promote healing, and advocate for systemic change to end exploitation.


Responsibilities:

- build trusting relationships, provide emotional support, mentorship, and guidance in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
- conduct comprehensive assessments of youth needs, strengths, and goals, collaborating with them to develop individualized service plans and goals for empowerment and recovery.

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Assist with educational activities, including tutoring and homework help
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including case managers, therapists, group home staff and educators to ensure coordinated and holistic care for youth
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions, service plans, progress notes, and outcomes
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding participant's progress and any concerns
  • Always ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants

Experience:


  • Previous experience working with youth who have experienced trauma, exploitation, or marginalization, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting.
  • Knowledge of traumainformed care principles, youth development theories, and evidencebased practices for supporting survivors of sexual exploitation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish boundaries, and communicate effectively with youth
  • Empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity in working with youth who have experienced trauma and exploitation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to meet the needs of youth and the organization

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
$25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
