  • The Airport Business Development & Community Relations Manager is responsible for creating, developing, managing and implementing marketing strategies, business development programs, and community event planning Airportwide. Developing and implementing initiatives in support of YLW's strategies, goals, and targets, including business plan development and strategy implementation. Focusing on profitable partnerships and revenue growth in alignment with YLW's strategic goals.
  • Under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Commercial & Business Development, the position plans, coordinates and leads all marketing related initiatives intended to develop and expand the commercial activities, business development, revenue generation, and community relations of the airport. The Airport Business Development and Community Relations Manager nurtures relationships between YLW and campus employees, external organizations, the media, and the local and regional community.

Strategic Marketing:


  • Design, implement, execute, and facilitate the annual marketing plan
  • Assist in the research and development of strategic marketing initiatives
  • Analyze key stakeholder requirements and look for marketing opportunities and risks
  • Identify and analyze internal and external marketing initiatives that support the airports business development goals
  • Develop recommendations for senior management

Marketing & Promotion

  • Coordinate with airport communications, the development of airport marketing material (social media, emagazines, magazines, brochures, annual reports, etc.)
  • Identify the requirements for all marketing materials, including presentations, brochures, etc. and review with airport communications advisor
  • Create and implement marketing research projects in support of the continued development of the airport revenues such as food & beverage, retail concessions, parking and ground transportation.
  • Research, recommend, plan and oversee the execution of promotionaland revenue generating activities for YLW

YLW Brand Management**:


  • Manage the Airport's branding program, including sponsorships and advertisements, and analyze and measure brand performance ensuring it meets the airports business objectives
  • Provide oversight to YLW 3rd party advertising sales through coordination with the Advertising Sales Contract
  • Identify opportunities for Community investments and partnerships and establish, nurture and solidify relationships
  • Proactively position and promote YLW as the regions' key economic driver

Stakeholder Relations:


  • Assist with the development of new opportunities to build community awareness
  • Coordinate various community outreach programs
  • Identify and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively initiate and support opportunities for partnership with various stakeholders, addressing their concerns and business needs and driving revenues where applicable

Business Plan:


  • Consult with internal stakeholders for input into the design of the airport Business Plan
  • Design, implement, execute, and facilitate the annual business development plan for the commercial department
  • Hire and provide direction to consultants for the purpose of achieving the goals of the business plan
  • Develop and implement initiatives to support YLW's strategies, goals, and targets, and opportunities for Aeronautical and Non-Aeronautical revenue growth

Manage Budget:


  • Signing Authority Limit: $50K

Credentials - Union

Knowledge
  • Non Union
  • University degree in marketing/communications or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of five years progressive related experience in marketing with a focus on business development and community relations is preferred. Indepth knowledge and understanding of advertising and marketing principles and research, print and production processes, and experience in working with advertising and creative agencies as well as graphic and print houses. Equivalent industry skills, knowledge and experience is acceptable.

Revenue Contributory - Promote, market, and grow aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue opportunities.


Operations Contributory - Assists in promoting commercial and retail operations and opportunities.
