Dragonfly Counselling and Support Centre is looking for a Full-Time
Financial Administrator to join their team.

All work at the Dragonfly Counselling & Support Centre (DCSC) will reflect the Mission Statement and philosophical beliefs of the organization.

DCSC is a not-for-profit, charitable organization serving the Northeast Region of Alberta, that supports children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced sexual abuse or assault, and educates the public about sexual violence.


This position is based out of the Bonnyville office and is responsible for leading crucial activities of financial reporting, compliance and support of operating budgets while providing oversight to the administrative team.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete all financial activities (AP, AR, Reconciliations, Payroll, Asset Management, Filing).
  • Ensure timely accurate remittance reporting and payments.
  • Finalize required reporting (T4's, ROE, etc.).
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with the analysis of financial data.
  • Assist with the development of financial projections and annual budget development.
  • Primary contact for Audits.
  • Verify account codes and signatures for proper assignment of budgetary expenditures.
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.

Qualifications

  • College Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years work experience in accounting field.
  • Experience with budget, accounting, and reporting systems.
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of finance, payroll and taxation.
  • Proficient with computers and the use of Microsoft Office software and/or Google Apps software, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher and electronic records management system.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
  • An understanding and experience of a fast moving workplace environment, superior written, and oral communication skills
  • Good understanding of processes, policies and procedures required for supporting a nonprofit organization
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism and be courteous and confidential.
  • An understanding of women's issues, social justice advocacy, diversity and antioppressive practice is an asset.
  • Criminal Records check, Child Intervention Record check, valid Alberta Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
