- Analyzing features such as feasibility, associated costs, time, and the compatibility of new programs with existing programs, and hardware. Ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved.
- Consulting on business assessment and requirements analysis processes, for the development of hardware and operating systems.
- Performing complex application programming activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying complex applications programs.
- Coordinating coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions.
- Work with internal partners to solve observability requirements
- Implement custom metrics, SLOs, extensions, dashboards, integrations.
- Maintenance of tooling infrastructure (support, test, and deploy patches and updates)
- Engineer new solutions with teams to implement platform or technology integrations
- Develop and maintain automated provisioning of Dynatrace features via CI/CD pipeline and other automation platforms.
- Work with teams to troubleshoot issues related to performance or product compatibility
- Provide input on longer term strategic tooling decisions such as new tools, opportunities to rationalize existing toolsets, and close operational gaps
- Document Use Cases and Operational information
- On-Call rotation split with existing team members for Application Support
- High level of knowledge with Dynatrace – Professional Certification preferred
- Experience with Dynatrace Agent deployment techniques on various platforms including: Windows, Linux, AIX, z/OS, PCF, OpenShift, Azure, AWS, GCS.
- Experience with installation and configuration of Dynatrace ActiveGates.
- Experience with configuration of Dynatrace tagging rules, extensions, RUM, custom metrics, SLOs, alert profiles, dashboards, synthetics.
- Experience with use of Dynatrace APIs.
- Experience with Terraform, specifically with Dynatrace configurations
- Experience with Dynatrace license management using DPS models
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline concepts and typical tooling
- Experience troubleshooting application issues, providing walk through of features.
- Application Management Experience (Operations, Patching, Upgrades, Vendor Relationship Management).
- Good understanding of Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux, AIX (z/OS a bonus).
- Good understanding of Cloud platforms such as PCF, OpenShift, AWS, Azure.
- Good understanding of development technologies and concepts. (i.e. Java, .Net) Development experience a big plus.
- Good understanding of application server technologies such as WebSphere, Tomcat, Nginx, etc.
- Good understanding of other monitoring tools and capabilities (i.e. Zabbix, Prometheus, GEM, Logic Monitor, SCOM, etc.).
- Good understanding of ITSM and SRE principles.
- Great communication skills, experience with running meetings and presenting complex ideas, experience working with a dynamic team.
- Experience with OS Native Scripting (Shell Scripting, Bash, PowerShell).
- Programming experience.
- Familiarity with PagerDuty, Moogsoft, and ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with Elastic and or Splunk.
- Familiarity with networking technologies and concepts.
- Experience with APM platforms other than Dynatrace (i.e. DataDog, App Dynamics, New Relic, etc.).
- Experience as a Team Leader or Project Manager.
- Creating Application Architecture documentation (Diagrams, Support Docs)
