Job Summary:


As a key player of Lumibird's LIDAR business unit in Ottawa, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the business in multiple technology projects and new product development.

The incumbent will be expected to contribute to all aspects of procurement withing the company, including, quoting, price evaluation, purchasing, shipping, receiving, and the associated scheduling of such activities.


Reporting to the Procurement and Planning Manager, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the successful, timely, and efficient execution of various activities related to ongoing Business Administration, Research and Development, New Product Introductions, and Manufacturing activities.

The incumbent will interface directly with vendors, suppliers, vendors, contractors, and representatives from all departments within the Lumibird Canada organization, to support all aspects of procurement activities.

In addition, and from time-to-time, the Procurement Specialist will support the team with inventory management and control, invoicing, production schedule management and other activities as outlined below.


Responsibilities:


The Procurement Specialist will be expected to:

  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure appropriate process times are maintained within MRP and ERP
  • Support production with order review, materials availability, and sales forecast management
  • Create and maintain relationships with venders/suppliers
  • Maintain purchase records and other important data
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining and updating products information such as HS code, ECCN, COO, and other specifications
  • Ensure that inventory counts are accurate by performing regular cycle and annual counts
  • Participate when necessary in payment issue resolution
  • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products
  • Analyze and complete regular MRP purchase messages, utilizing MRP and ERP Software
  • Plan and manage inventory levels of materials products, adjusting for changes in forecast demand

Qualifications:


The Procurement Specialist must possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Purchasing, and/or Supply Management Ability to distinguish among several different parts with similar features
  • Demonstrated and documented success at managing and executing projects ontime and onbudget
  • Highly organized, with an ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work on different tools/ERP simultaneously
  • Strong verbal, and written, communication skills
In addition, the following qualifications would be considered an asset:

  • Previous experience with MRP
