Canada Life is looking for an Analyst to join our Distribution strategy to provide business analysis, financial analysis, research, and project management support.

The Strategy team supports key strategic initiatives for the Group Customer division at Canada Life.


Key Deliverables and Results

Provide analytic support for various strategic initiatives and projects within the Group Customer division at Canada Life, including the following:

  • Conduct financial analysis, including developing financial models to understand the profitability, lines of business, or market/industry
  • Gather market and competitor information from industry associations, publications, research reports
  • Interview internal staff to get information and perspective on a line of business, competitive threats, market trends and other relevant strategic issues
  • Develop company profiles based on financial reports, analyst reports, company websites, industry groups, research reports, literature searches etc.
  • Manage their workstreams on projects with mínimal guidance
  • Do their part to ensure a high level of quality (zerodefect) in all presentations and analyses while working in a fastpaced environment

Ad hoc and special projects as required

Qualifications and Competencies

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a corporate environment (preferably in a large company) or as a professional or consultant in corporate finance and/or accounting
  • An undergraduate degree (preferably in business, finance or accounting)
  • Completion of, or progress towards professional designations/degrees (e.g. CFA, CA, CBV, MBA) considered an asset
