In this role you will:


  • Plan and coordinate Testing inventory needs utilizing a lean methodology
  • Assist with forecasting and scheduling of product based on test process cycle times
  • Sign off Engineering Change Orders and ensure the proper implementation of product updates and revision changes within Testing
  • Chair daily SIM meetings for Testing as needed
  • Attend daily Supervisor SIM meeting and communicate any issues or barriers from Testing
  • Direct supervision and scheduling of production staff as well assist with the planning for longer term resource needs for the department
  • Develop and implement process solutions as needed to help improve efficiency and quality
  • Ensure flow of product through Testing processes by managing priorities for the team and monitoring OTD of product from upstream processes
  • Selection, hiring and completing annual performance reviews for production staff
  • Ensure staff are properly trained on Testing processes and quality standards requirements
  • Provide backup and vacation coverage to other manufacturing supervisors
  • Coordinate updates to work instructions and procedures to ensure documentation is correct and kept up to date
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of quality control procedures and reporting
  • Implementation of Lean Principles and methodologies where applicable
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across production to achieve efficiency and quality standards, including development of process as needed
  • Provide feedback to Engineering and collaborate on process or design solutions for manufacturability issues
  • Maintain training records for department ensuring they are up to date for all staff
  • Maintain up to date labour costing information on BOM's for Testing processes
  • Analysis of process capacity to determine requirements for equipment and staffing to meet sales targets
  • Selection, hiring and completion of annual performance reviews for staff
  • Other duties as assigned

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive approach
  • 5 years of working experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • College diploma or university degree would be considered an asset
  • Expertise in manufacturing process development and quality analysis
  • Understanding of commonly used quality standards and tools
  • Experience and knowledge regarding lean tools and methodology within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to drive improvements to process performance and efficiency
  • Willingness to be a handson leader who will work alongside the production team as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across different teams in Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Agility and adaptability within a fastpaced production environment
  • Experience with soldering and an understanding of industry soldering quality standards would be considered an asset
  • High level of proficiency with computers, specifically MS Office
  • A positive and flexible attitude with a strong ability to maintain
