    About The Role

    The Asphalt Paver Operator efficiently operates various models of asphalt pavers to maintain an acceptable level of workmanship and productivity. He/she must have knowledge and experience for the proper set up, operation and maintenance of Niveltronic or Topcon grade and slope automatic systems. Paving skills and knowledge are required for asphalt mix applications on variable types of projects that include parking lots, residential subdivisions, collector and arterial roadways and highway projects.

    As an Asphalt Paver Operator at Standard General, you will:

  • Be responsible for proper machine startup and shutdown knowledge/practices which are essential to proper paver maintenance and operation.
  • Have knowledge and experience for the proper setup, operation and maintenance of paver auger feed and automatic grade control systems.
  • Operate paver and control asphalt delivery to and placement by the paver to mitigate mix segregation and support of screed personnel to maintain required asphalt thickness and smoothness requirements.
  • Discuss and plan daily project paving procedures/goals with fellow paving personnel to maximize productivity and workmanship.
  • To Be Successful In this Role, You Will Need:

  • Driver's License (Class 5)
  • 3-5 years of experience operating a paver
  • Knowledge of all paving equipment and the paving process.
  • Ability to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • "Can do " mindset
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Ability to work extended hours and days with no interruption
