    Description

    Position Summary

    We are currently recruiting for a Property Claims Adjuster to join our team in Owen Sound , Ontario, Canada.

    The successful candidate will evaluate claims through loss investigation and negotiate settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.

    Responsibilities

  • Interviewing claimants and witnesses
  • Obtaining official documents
  • Comparing claims information with evidence
  • Determination of liability
  • Makes offer to claimants
  • Issue cheque
  • Dispose of salvage
  • Pursue subrogation
  • Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files, including presentation of evidence at legal proceedings
  • Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records.
  • Work with manager to maintain client relations
  • Requirements

  • 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment, with strong knowledge of property claims is required. Knowledge of commercial lines will be considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance related field working towards full license and CIP designation
  • Proficient in CMS, including maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records
  • Advanced computer skills including Office 365
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service
