Maintenance Supervisor:Lead and Elevate Facility Maintenance to Optimal Performance**
Where does the Maintenance Supervisor fit in?


The Maintenance Supervisor will lead all aspects of facility & machine maintenance to enable optimal performance of equipment and production.

They will ensure the safe and appropriate operation of equipment through proper diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of production/processing machinery and other mechanical equipment.

To coordinate and improve maintenance of molding machines (30+), peripheral & auxiliary equipment as well as area improvements.

They will implement preventative/predictive maintenance strategies alongside breakdown repairs, including projects, continuous improvement, 5S, and facility repairs or maintenance work as assigned.

They will lead the maintenances projects, savings, and new machines and equipment purchasing. Analyzing the equipment of molding and the production plan to develop the strategic and maintenance plan. They will also decide the best technology in molding for the projects of capacity increase, new products, savings, etc. by connecting with suppliers in the market.

The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the technician(s) work according to production programs while working alongside necessary departments to improve the processes at Axiom.

They will also develop the maintenance team through training and mentorship.


What you can expect as our next Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Lead site maintenance team members, and build collaborative working relationships with engineering, production, process, quality, logistics and team members


  • Measure Performance

  • Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented maintenance programs including downtime, repair and maintenance costs, and other data to measure the effectiveness and cost of the maintenance programs in place
  • Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical and computerized systems in accordance with diagrams, blueprints, operating manuals, or manufacturer's specifications. Equipment examples include injection molding machines, pumps, hydraulics, motors, assembly equipment, auxiliary and material conveying equipment, dryers, thermolators, tower, compressors, facility systems (HVAC), etc.
  • Expand preventative & predictive maintenance programs, including crucial component reliability & work order management
  • Work closely with production to minimize machine downtime by identifying root cause, ensuring timeliness of repair operation, coordinating necessary support departments, and following up on corrective actions to avoid future breakdowns
  • Inspect operating equipment and environment of the working area and maintain standards
  • Contribute to plant cost and downtime reduction, using our machine monitoring system to help with analysis
  • Track assets and inventory controls (audits, maintenance parts inventory levels, tracking and allocation of equipment)
  • Create and maintain maintenance records, use Limble CMMS software to track equipment and workorders
  • Determine the maintenance requirements set by the manufacturer are met while ensuring documentation of internal & external services are recorded & organized
  • Schedule and perform all Preventative Maintenance
  • Provide on the job training to the technical team including Lockout / Tagout training
  • Implement facilities improvement projects as assigned; helping to coordinate internal resources with outside vendors when appropriate
  • Keep assigned work area clean, neat, organized and free from safety hazards
  • Plan and coordinate equipment repair and maintenance with production department and subcontractors as required
  • Strive for continuous improvement of all equipment, systems and procedures throughout the facility
  • Maintain safe working environment including completion of accident investigation report, good housekeeping, safety training, Utilization of personal protective equipment, and compliance with safety rules and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to IATF systems and procedures
  • Support the plant on offshift and weekends when necessary and provide critical maintenance support if needed
  • Support Health and Safety requirements
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Are you our next Maintenance Supervisor?

  • Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright
  • Red Seal License is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years injection moulding and or extrusion experience required
  • Familiar with applicable codes relating to maintenance such as Ontario hydro code (ESA), CSA, OHSA, spill response
  • Exposure and experience with Continuous Improvement, TPM, Lean, 5S Strategies
  • Firm understanding of hydraulics and pneumatic schematics
  • Proven troubleshooting skills. Must be able to systematically diagnose electrical, plumbing, and mechanical problems
  • Good knowledge of machine shop practices and welding experience
  • Exceptional time keeping, organizational and problemsolving skills
