Scope
Develop skills in public works and make a difference in the community through valuable work.
We are seeking labourers who are keen and hardworking to join our Water Operations team, with the potential to work towards an EOCP Level 1 Operator certificate.
Responsibilities:
Performing a variety of physical tasks related to construction, maintenance and serving customers under the guidance of experienced staff.
Dealing with the public, responding to inquiries and issues in a courteous and respectful way.
Qualifications:
Are dependable and committed to upholding the City's values of Community, Innovation, Integrity, Service and Teamwork.
Work well with others and communicate clearly.
Be able to evaluate situations and make sound decisions.
Can handle customer interactions well and act professionally with the public.
Care about safety and creating a safe work environment for yourself and your co-workers.
Having experience doing general labour in a public works, maintenance and/or a construction environment as well as training and/or courses in public works is an advantage.
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent.Relevant experience and training.
A valid and unrestricted class 5 driver's license with a safe driving record.
