Translator (Armenian, Russian, English)Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, cataloguing, transcribing, and translating interviews from the Zoryan Institute's Armenian Genocide Oral History Project
- Translating press releases from English to Armenian/Russian
- Subtitling interviews, promotional videos, etc.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English, Armenian, Russian and the Artsakh dialect is mandatory
- Experience in a field of education, history, literature, communications, etc.
- Experience working with archival collections
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in all languages
- Knowledge of linguistic principles and translation techniques
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
As a Translator for the Zoryan Institute, you will play a crucial role in preserving the the Institute's oral history collections, and making them available to an English speaking audience.
You will also help the office staff to translate articles, press releases and other archival materials from Armenian/Russian/Arstsakh dialect to English, and add subtitling to promotional videos, and/or audio-visual interviews.
The translator for the Zoryan Institute will also be responsible for facilitating effective communication between individuals who speak different languages.
Salary:
$60,000.00 per year
