Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an
Equipment Operator
(full-time) to support the
FB Bullet team in shallow utility construction operations in
Surrey, BC.


All FB Bullet staff will report to the main office in Surrey and travel to work sites with their designated crews in company vehicles.

The _Equipment Operator_ will be responsible for but not limited to operating various heavy equipment for project related functions in addition to preparation and cleanup of job sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems associated with work equipment (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic) and perform all work/training in compliance with Company Safety Standards and established safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical/electrical problems and conduct work without compromising the integrity of any equipment and meeting the demands of the projects in a timely manner
  • Utilize, reference, and interpret work orders, technical manuals, service manuals / schematic drawings
  • Conduct routine and preventative inspection tests, repair or replace parts with limited resources in remote locations outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Operate and utilize various hand and power hand tools
  • Appropriately operate equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to assist in assignments, as needed
  • Inspect and diagnose equipment and equipment part malfunctions and problems, and implement; reuse, repair, replacement and/or corrective action to minimize the impact on operations and maintain safe operations
  • Utilize and adhere to shop maintenance procedures and information systems
  • Ensures cleanliness, maintenance, loading/unloading of shop, shop tools and equipment, storage equipment including service truck
  • Maintain, inspect, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles, onroad and industrial equipment such as excavators, wheel Loaders, backhoes, digger derrick trucks, aerial bucket trucks, trailers, and dump trucks

What We Are Looking For:


  • Possess a Class 3 Driver's License (Class 1, an asset)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical experience, preferably on a mobile service
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Equipment or Inter Provincial Truck and Transport Mechanic is required
  • Willingness to obtain a CVIP license and Class 3 drivers' licence with assistance from Forbes Bros.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Pre-Access D&A testing, presenting a valid Driver's License and an acceptable drivers abstract
