Job Summary:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Mobility Planning, the Project Manager is responsible for leading Region-wide multi-modal transportation studies to support growth in the Region.
Key undertakings that the Project Manager will lead include Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Studies, feasibility studies, as well as other transportation-related studies to support a multi-modal Regional transportation network.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out and/or review area specific technical transportation network studies, feasibility studies or other transportationrelated studies.
- Provide transportationrelated input and technical support on Regional projects, as well as projects undertaken by others, such as the Local Municipalities, Metrolinx, Ministry of Transportation to support a seamless and connected multimodal transportation network across the Region.
- Cultivate strong relationships with staff of Halton Region through developed and demonstrated professionalism, awareness, political acuity and responsive communications.
- Assist with the development of multimodal transportation and mobility procedures/policies, preparation of staff reports and recommendations to Regional Council on matters dealing with transportation and mobility planning.
- Represent the Region on technical studies and committees and before municipal tribunals related to the municipal transportation infrastructure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Postsecondary education in Engineering and/or Environmental Studies/Sciences, along with Certification in Ontario as a Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng.) or a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.).
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience planning municipal multimodal transportation infrastructure.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process.
- Strong project management, strategic planning, organization, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Travel demand forecasting, intersection traffic analysis, detailed design.
- Computer software including Synchro, EMME/GTAv4, ARC GIS.
- Project Management Certification (PMP)

- The successful incumbent must supply their own transportation and will be required to provide a copy of their driver's license by their first day of employment.
