WATER & SEWER TOP MAN to our team.

Reporting To:
Underground Foreman

Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure pipe is installed and embedded properly and on grade using proper practices and materials required monitor, control and adjust as necessary
Record trench and pipe grading via laser, level and rod or batter boards
Inspection of pipe, materials and tools prior to all usage
Rigging and lowering of all materials into ditch in a safe and proper manner
Prepare and help laborers throughout the day, directing junior crew members
Setting up track line
Lining up service connection locations, CB's, MH's, etc.
Act as the main watch point for hazards, ladders, slopes, etc.
Monitor and control water in trenches
Perform other duties as required
Understand and follow direction from supervisor
Maintain cleanliness in working areas
Follow health and safety policies

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a top man in underground utilities
High attention to detail and problem solving
Ability to communicate effectively
Must have own means of transportation
Physically capable
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Valid class 5 driver's license
Thorough understanding of construction safety site practices
Ability to work weekends and overtime shifts when required
