Who You Are

The Role


As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business leaders and managers, fostering a collaborative relationship between HR and the various business units.

Your role is to understand the business's goals and objectives, identify human resources needs, and develop and implement HR solutions that contribute to the achievement of organizational success.


Responsibilities:

Departmental Duties

  • Provide Human Resource support to Store Operations in person and consult over teleconference.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and advice to the client (District Manager, General Manager and Store Management Team) regarding employment related issues including but not limited to the interpretation of company policies & procedures, recruitment & selection strategy, performance management, terminations, strategic planning, training & development and benefits administration, and labour relations.
  • Understand the critical objectives of the business and partner with the greater HR network to help influence the culture, create a positive employee experience, and champion relevant organizational changes and initiatives.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and the business to develop proactive strategies to address the staffing needs of the client and to ensure the client group is fully staffed with a diverse workforce.
  • Partner with leaders to ensure new hires are properly on boarded.
  • Liaise with claims management and local management to ensure early and safe return to work initiatives are executed and that WSIB reporting is completed within required timelines.

  • Provide coaching & support management on leadership development, talent, and performance management, change and people management issues & communication.
  • Support the delivery and deployment of HR programs and processes and participate in coaching and guiding in functional and crossfunctional initiatives (Performance Management, Compensation, Succession Planning, Engagement Survey and the Performance Review Cycle)
  • Support the employee relations processes including leading workplace investigations (harassment, discrimination, etc), coordinating presence management initiatives, writing corrective letters and providing continuous coaching.
  • Partner with each store location management team to engage and coach team members.
  • Coach and advise leaders on talent management best practices related to attracting, developing and retaining employees.
  • Partner with the business and employees to define and develop career development plans, establish, and maintain succession plans and foster and promote internal mobility.
Health and Safety

  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset related to health and safety, employee wellness offerings and environmental initiatives. Ensure data accuracy and integrity within all HR systems.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety policies aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure that policies are communicated effectively to employees and management.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to conduct regular audits and assessments of safety practices.
  • Work with operational teams to identify potential health and safety risks in the workplace.
  • Assist in the development of risk assessment processes and mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development and delivery of health and safety training programs for employees and management.
  • Ensure that employees are informed about safety protocols and emergency procedures.
