Events Manager - Hampton, Canada - Pingle's Farm Market
Description
The position is responsible for our small-scale events, such as workshops, classes, and educational forums as well as our large-scale events being: Easter, Pick-your-own days, Flower festival days, Harvest fest, and Christmas.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan & execute events yearround.
- Gain a complete understanding for each events requirements.
- Hire and manage employees (360 staff depending on the season)
- Conduct employee training on customer service and eventspecific training
- Manage Staff scheduling, time off and coordinating schedules
- Be present on event days requires weekend work and sometimes long hours
- Act as point of contact for school tours.
- Manage online bookings software
- Daytoday administration of events and programs including placing orders, monitoring vendors, monitoring registration, tracking RSVPs, answering attendee questions and resolving issues.
- Manage event calendars.
- Liaise with vendors, retail team, kitchen team, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
- Maintain event budgets.
- Manage all event setup, tear down and followup processes.
- Work closely with the marketing & social media coordinator to promote events & come up with creative concepts (event branding, promotional material)
- Assess an event's overall success and submit financials.
- Understand and "get" the brand of the farm
- Minimum two years experience

- Ability to communicate effectively is a MUST
- Must be able to work independently and within a small team
This position requires a lot of different strengths:
from people skills with staff and customers, to strong organizational skills, to working weekends during events and some long hours.
The rate of pay varies depending on experience and the amount of responsibilities that are taken on by the applicant.
