Site Inspector
(Full-time permanent position)

Southwestern Ontario


Position Summary:


As a Cambridge Elevating (CE) Home Elevator Site Inspector, your primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and timely elevator installation for the customer and your CE installation team.

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating with various trades involved in the construction process, educating them on our specific preparatory requirements, and reporting back to the Project Management Team the progress of each home build while executing the final site measurements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Onsite Consults: _Provide comprehensive guidance and Sales Drawing translation to relevant trades involved in the construction process (e.g., site superintendents, carpenters, electricians), specific to the hoistway size & construction, and the electrical requirements. Ensure all parties understand the importance of adhering to these requirements for optimal performance and safety codes.
  • Progress Monitoring:_ Monitor the progress of each construction project to identify the need and time for return consults and the final measurement visit. Coordinate closely with the Project Management Team to ensure alignment with elevator production timelines.
  • Hoistway Inspection_: Conduct thorough inspections of each hoistway and related spaces (e.g., machine room). Identify any structural or spatial constraints that may impact the installation process or access to the elevator hoistway and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Customer Support: _Serve as a point of contact for builders, and contractors regarding questions or concerns related to elevator installation preparations. Provide responsive and helpful assistance to ensure a positive experience.

Qualifications:


  • Possess a strong understanding of home construction principles and practices.
  • Have confidence to participate in planning discussions on an active construction site.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Adept at accurately measuring dimensions and distances using a tape measure. This includes reading both imperial (inches/feet) and metric measurements with precision.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Ability to effectively oversee and manage several projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to thrive in a resultsdriven environment.
  • Highly responsive and customerfocused, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to home elevators is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel within the specified territory often as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.

Performance Measurement:

Key positions at the Company use a Performance Results Agreement (PRA) document that defines performance expectations using S.M.A.R.T. goals.

The PRA is developed to create an agreed picture of what a job looks like when it is being done well.
