Position Description:
The Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery is a high-volume tertiary referral centre for complex patients with pathologies related to the colon, rectum, and anus.
The Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery is part of an academic and high-volume comprehensive division at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
The MUHC is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada's internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.
Job Duties:
McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Hold a medical degree, and must hold or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec.
- Have completed General Surgical training and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent).
- Have completed an accredited fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery (i.e., either Royal College or American Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education).
- Have additional graduate training in the form of an MSc, PhD, or a second year of clinical fellowship (required for all surgical hires). This would ideally be in robotic surgery or advanced pelvic malignancy.
- Be committed to, and demonstrate excellence in, clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation.
