The IT Service Desk Analyst plays an essential role in supporting and maintaining IT service operations, assisting users, and driving system enhancements.

This position is actively involved in advanced system administration, automation initiatives, cross-functional projects, and decision-making responsibilities that require strong technical expertise and professional judgment.


The role extends beyond standard business hours, as the analyst may be required to address after-hours issues, support system rollouts, and help ensure continuous system availability.

This is an onsite position based at our Edmonton, AB corporate office and requires up to 30% travel to other provinces to support business needs.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Serve as the escalation point for complex incidents and service requests.
Perform deep-dive diagnostics and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Support advanced troubleshooting across networking, operating systems, and business applications.

System Administration

Manage and maintain endpoint management tools, antivirus platforms, and patching systems.
Administer Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 environments.
Create automation scripts to streamline support workflows.
Conduct access reviews and manage user privileges.
Assist in incident response and implement remediation plans.

Project Support

Participate in or lead IT rollouts, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Coordinate with vendors and internal departments during implementation efforts.
Document technical procedures and provide training to team members and end users.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Liaise with department heads to assess IT needs and recommend solutions.
Evaluate new technologies and contribute to strategic planning.
Maintain asset and configuration documentation.

Requirements

3+ years in a technical support or systems administration role.
CompTIA A+
Strong understanding of Windows OS, networking, and enterprise tools.
Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
Familiarity with ITIL principles and ticket management systems.
Ability to work independently and handle confidential matters.
