    BACKGROUND

    Located on the beautiful West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI), is a collaboration between Grenfell Campus, College of the North Atlantic, and Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Ltd. The Centre has three key components: a training facility for CBPPL employees to ensure a skilled workforce is well-positioned to implement future business opportunities and directions; a space to house Navigate Entrepreneurship Business Incubator and MakerSpace, encouraging entrepreneurship; and a research and innovation hub for the regional economy. It is a catalyst for socio-economic growth in the Western Region. The centre's focus on innovation, creativity, research, and training strengthens collaboration between industry, post-secondary institutions, government, and community partners. By supporting research and development, business diversification and a stronger culture of innovation and entrepreneurship throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, the centre upholds its mandate to the people of the province. The facility holds limitless opportunities for students, researchers, and industry professionals. The space will spur product development and market exploration for the forestry, mining, and agricultural industries, supporting growth and fostering sustainability for the province and the entire Atlantic Region. It is a space that will bring students, faculty, staff, public and government agencies, and community partners together in the essence of creativity and sustainability.

    DUTIES

    Reporting to the Director, Centre for Research and Innovation, the successful applicant will act as the Program Coordinator, overseeing the implementation of an extended learning program at the CRI. Duties include planning, executing, managing, and monitoring a series of micro-credentials and credit courses; utilizing the resources of the CRI Makerspaces and other resources; working with stakeholders to develop programming needs; developing a sustainability plan in consultation with Grenfell Campus Extended Learning Unit; recruiting and collaborating with instructors on the development of stackable micro-credentials; managing the certification process; developing and implementing a marketing and communications plan to promote these courses; and performing other related duties as required. It is expected that the successful applicant will develop 16 micro-credential courses over three years, as well as develop a certificate program.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Professional experience (2-3 years) in course development or training programs in areas relevant to the Centre for Research and Innovation. Experience with events planning, project coordination, and/or managing teams or groups; completion of a post-secondary degree in education, business administration, event management; or any combination of equivalent experience, training, and education. Experience working with Microsoft Office is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of current digital technologies; strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills; adaptability, good judgment, and a strong work ethic. Working knowledge of Memorial University's policies and procedures and experience working in a post-secondary environment would be considered assets.

    SALARY $59,901 – 70,273 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
