Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized and compassionate care to a client with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
- Assist the client with activities of daily living.
- Conduct regular health assessments and promptly report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate medical professionals.
- Accompany the client on outings, hikes, nature walks, and other outdoor adventures.
- Ensure the client's safety during transportation and activities, adhering to all necessary precautions.
- Encouraging the client's participation in recreational activities that promote physical and mental wellbeing.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to the client, fostering a positive and uplifting environment.
Requirements:
- Specialized training or experience in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) care is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals in a home care, rehabilitation, or similar setting.
- Active and outdoorsy personality with a passion for engaging in recreational activities.
- Ability to provide 1:1 care and adapt to the unique needs of the client.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide emotional support.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Located North End of Nanaimo.
