Nature and Scope


The Student Wellness Supports Assistant - Summer Student position will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience while developing the skills necessary to be successful in their future.

General Accountability


The Student Wellness Supports Assistant - Summer Student provides student wellness research and administrative functions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and careful handling of highly confidential and sensitive information.

This position will have an opportunity to improve their teamwork and communication skills, as well as, their research skills and leadership capabilities.

This position includes the following broad range of accountabilities:


Specific Accountabilities

  • Greet and interact with clients and visitors in a timely, professional and pleasant manner; coupled with determining the nature of visitors' business and providing appropriate information
  • Maintain the filing systems of the department
  • Carry out quality control of data entry, update student files
  • Receive, sort, and send mail, courier packages, and faxes
  • Create and maintain efficient and detailed electronic and paper file management processes
  • Accountable for the upkeep and visual display of program brochures, employee request forms, and daily papers
  • Assist with student wellness research strategies
  • Additional support as required

There may be some summer student positions that must meet the following criteria:

  • First Nations and Inuit secondary and post-secondary students aged 15 to 30 inclusive
  • Ordinarily resident on reserve or in recognized communities or on community lands
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Registered as fulltime students during the preceding academic year and who intend to return to school on a fulltime basis in the next academic year

Position Requirements:Prior experience working with Microsoft Office suite of programs is an asset.
