    Role Overview:


    Kynetec is seeking an experienced Data Engineering leader who specialises in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Databricks You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Data Engineering Team in North America, and will support our client facing teams to optimize Kynetec's data production and remain first choice for our clients.

    This role is full-time, permanent and located in Canada.

    This position is remote, and there is a requirement to travel to the US throughout the year for team meetings.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership, support and mentorship to a small team, ensuring their professional and technical growth.
    • Design and develop new techniques and data pipelines to enable various insights for internal and external clients within market research.
    • Improve our infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
    • Optimise data delivery and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
    • Develop sound relationships with technical teams across the organisation to deliver on major crossfunctional measurements and testing.
    • Support the team with their plans to transition to a Databricks environment within the future.

    Skills you will bring with you:

    • BA or MA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subject.
    • 5+ years in a leadership position, supporting or coaching others in a technical environment.
    • 8+ years of demonstrable experience working in Data Engineering.
    • Hands on experience in Databricks is essential; Certifications would be advantageous.
    • Expert in Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Fluent in a common data language(s) such as Python.
    • Experience designing and developing data lake, data warehouse, ETL and task orchestrating systems.
    • Experience creating, testing, and supporting production software and systems.
    • Experience creating largescale data engineering pipelines, databased decisionmaking and quantitative analysis tools and software.
