    About Role:
  • The IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing IT related projects and/or programs within the D&IS division for SGI and SGI CANADA.
  • The Project Manager provides leadership, direction, and project management expertise to enable the successful implementation of major project initiatives from strategic planning through to implementation.
  • They also provide oversight and guidance to internal employees, contractors, and/or stakeholders in delivering their projects and/or program.
  • Experience in delivering IT Asset Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) related projects and/or programs will be beneficial to the work expected and should be highlighted.
  • Key Roles and Responsibilities of a Project Manager
  • Manages a portfolio of initiatives that span one or multiple areas of D&IS.
  • Contributes information and recommendations to project plans; works with stakeholders to develop project approaches/strategies to deliver projects and business value.
  • Oversees the day-to-day project activities of all assigned projects, ensuring project control procedures and policies are adhered to.
  • Defines and manages the scope of projects to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Manages external vendor relationships to define statement of work and ensure all deliverables are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Ensures effective distribution of tasks to project team members.
  • Provides direction, support, advice, and guidance to project team members and other project leads to ensure compliance with set standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Identifies, assesses, and appropriately manages all project risks.
  • Anticipates problems and recommends approaches to course correct (e.g., scope, schedule, budget).
  • Ensures project communication to stakeholders and impacted parties is planned and executed.
  • Ensures project deliverables are transitioned, including establishing ongoing performance measures to ensure desired business objectives are achieved.
  • Skills
  • Knowledge of program and project management practices, governance, approaches, and techniques, with experience in delivering IT driven initiatives.
  • Knowledge of agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Knowledge of corporate divisions/functions and how they interconnect.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle models.
  • Skill in managing and monitoring multiple projects and delivering within defined time constraints.
  • Skill in facilitating and leading work groups.
  • Skill in critical thinking and creative problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view.
  • Proven ability in delivering projects satisfactorily, meeting the needs of project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the M365 suite of solutions (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, Project).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Experienced in delivering complex projects with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, processes, and technology.
  • Knowledge of IT Software and Hardware Asset, and CMDB will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of insurance is not critical but beneficial.
