Position:
PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (4 MONTH CO-OP) DAY

Reporting to:
Production Manager


Hours Worked per Week:40 hours


Status/Shift:
Office / Monday to Friday

***- The Production Technician will assist in various production functions as directed by the Production Manager.


EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Coop or recent graduate from postsecondary degree in a business / administrative program
  • Demonstrated competence with office equipment as well as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customercentric approach
  • Ability to extract key information and deliverables through analysis and review of production data
  • Display initiative and sound professional judgment and integrity
  • A selfstarter and teamplayer with the ability to handle multiple job responsibilities, set priorities, problem solve and work with all levels of staff while appreciating the responsibility of meeting tight and conflicting deadlines

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assist production, verifying and matching documents, coding and recording information, reconciling documents
  • Study new machinery and facilities and recommend or select efficient combinations
  • Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures
  • Conduct studies and implement programs to determine optimum inventory levels for production and to allow optimum utilization of machinery, materials and resources
  • Analyze costs of production
  • Design, develop and conduct time studies and work simplification programs
  • Determine human resource and skill requirements and develop training program
  • Photocopy, scan and file documents.
  • Respond to inquiries from supervisors and other staff as required.
  • Prepare spread sheets / assist in generation of reports relating to the various production requirements as required.
  • Communicate with plant supervisors and employees to gather information to compose various reports
  • Other related tasks.

TASK ANALYSIS PROJECTS

  • Task Analysis will be assigned on project basis; observe/troubleshoot inside the plant
  • Report root cause, alternative solution and recommendation on the tasks assigned

Job Type:
Fixed term contract

Contract length: 4 months
